Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has confirmed his presence in the matchday squad via Bournemouth today.
United’s Premier League campaign continues today with a long trip down to in-form Bournemouth.
Marco Rose’s side have won their last five in all competitions without conceding a goal, sure to be tricky opposition to say the least.
Bournemouth v Leeds United: Anton Stach confirms injury boost
Daniel Farke’s pre-match press conference was dominated by Jean-Matteo Bahoya discourse. However, there was positive injury news too.
Nico Elvedi is fit again after illness, while Joe Rodon is back on the grass and integrated with the team. Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor trained all week, so barring any hiccups, will both be fit to start.
Anton Stach was the main doubt, having a persistent foot injury that meant he was only fit enough for the bench against Sunderland.
However, the German has essentially confirmed his availability today through his latest playful Instagram story:
Whether he’s fit enough to start remains to be seen. But, it looks incredibly likely that Stach will be part of the squad at 1:45pm today.
Will Anton Stach start or can Sean Longstaff seize rare Leeds United opportunity?
If Stach is fully fit, he’s one of the non-negotiables that has to start. Yes, he’s been really out of form this season, but he still produces incredible numbers out of possession that no one else can match.
That being said, if he’s not fully fit, there’s scope for Sean Longstaff to come in.
His cameo at Sunderland was brief, but very impressive nonetheless.
If Stach isn’t ready for 90 minutes, I wouldn’t be against bringing Longstaff in to start. After all, he had a good time against today’s opposition last season.
