Leeds United take on Spurs this Saturday, needing to get back to winning ways soon and, importantly, start looking good in attack.
United have gone stale of late in the Premier League. Winless in the last five, Daniel Farke’s headache at the moment is how he gets the attack scoring again.
So, a home clash is ideal. Although, it’s against one of the Premier League’s form sides in Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham.
Leeds United injury news pre-Spurs: Triple attacking blow confirmed – DCL, Okafor, Stach
Coming into this week’s pre-match press conference, questions were bound to be asked about the fitness of Noah Okafor, Joe Rodon and others who have been struggling recently.
Rodon returned to some parts of team training last week, while a late setback for Okafor in training saw him miss the defeat at Bournemouth.
Starting with the bad news, Okafor and Anton Stach have not trained with the squad all week, leaving them major doubts for this weekend as Farke described the situation as “struggling in offence”.
Elsewhere, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has a minor issue that leaves a question mark over his availability. Farke, though, is “cautiously optimistic” about him being fit for Saturday.
On the more positive news, Rodon is back in full training and close to a return. Also, full-backs James Justin and Gabriel Gudmundsson are fully fit after hobbling with knocks against Bournemouth.
Huge attacking headaches for Daniel Farke as Leeds United take on Spurs
It’s clear that Farke needs to sort out the attack. But having three of his key players missing training is far from ideal.
This definitely doesn’t help the Leeds boss in addressing what he clearly knows are the shortcomings of this attack right now.
However, if Calvert-Lewin is fit, we’ve still got options that can hurt Spurs. That may include Harry Wilson, Dan James or maybe even Jean-Matteo Bahoya (if Farke is feeling adventurous).
Let’s hope for positive news as the weekend nears.
