Leeds United loanee Largie Ramazani scored again for Burnley on Tuesday. But, he could not help them get their first win under new manager Fabio Celestini.
Away from West Yorkshire, United have several loanees looking to make their mark at their temporary homes with a view to permanent deals.
That includes Largie Ramazani. The Belgian has been frozen out of Leeds’ plans for some time under Daniel Farke, and has a big opportunity to sign for Burnley on a long-term deal.
Largie Ramazani scores as Burnley held away to QPR – Given 6/10 player rating
Ramazani has endured a turbulent start to life at Turf Moor. Burnley haven’t exactly responded to relegation in the best manner, struggling at the bottom end of the Championship table, with their slide continuing.
Manager Nicky Hayen was dismissed and replaced by Swiss boss Fabio Celestini, who is yet to get off the mark with a first win of the season.
A stalemate at home to Portsmouth came first. Last night, Celestini will have hoped the Clarets were on their way as they took the lead away at QPR. And it was Ramazani who got their goal. Shaping up from 25 yards out, Ramazani took a quick low shot towards the bottom corner, clearly catching Pierce Charles in the QPR goal off guard, as it squirmed in.
However, Ramazani and Burnley’s slump continued with QPR levelling. Jonathan Varane’s effort should not have found its way in, but Gregoire Coudert couldn’t keep the tame shot out.
Burnley Express’ player ratings weren’t strong, as you can imagine, even for goalscorer Ramazani.
“Seemed to take the goalkeeper by surprise with his long-range effort, which was well struck. It was his only real contribution, however,” Matt Scrafton wrote.
£6.5million transfer edges closer as Leeds United’s Largie Ramazani scores again for Burnley
Ramazani’s permanent move to Burnley looks inevitable at this rate. He’s the real bright spark in their attack at the moment, which isn’t too difficult considering how bad they are.
But at £6.5million, that permanent buy obligation is getting closer and closer. It’s an undisclosed appearance-related clause that triggers his transfer, and Burnley will be playing him every week at the moment.
Burnley can’t afford not to play one of their only good attackers right now. So, it won’t be long before he’s sold permanently and Leeds get a decent windfall.
It’s a shame he’s not going to be getting us more money. He’s clearly a talented player, but almost certainly looking like selling him is ideal.
