Leeds United take on Spurs tomorrow afternoon, and Daniel Farke has plenty to consider as he looks for a return to winning ways.
It’s been five games without a win in the Premier League for Leeds. Up next is a tall order to correct that run.
Spurs are in form right now, having leapfrogged the Whites last time out with their third win on the spin. Daniel Farke, meanwhile, has plenty to work through.
Leeds United team news confirmed pre-Spurs: Anton Stach broken toe, Noah Okafor major doubt
The attacking contingent is looking quite thin for Leeds at the moment. Hardly ideal considering Leeds are looking very toothless in the final third.
Noah Okafor, after missing the Bournemouth away game, hasn’t trained all week, Farke said in his pre-match press conference. There is a slim chance of him being available if his situation improves soon, but given the nature of it being an adductor problem, it’s not likely.
The same can be said of Anton Stach. Farke noted an unspecified foot issue in October was keeping Stach from full fitness, and explained how it’s actually a broken toe that’s troubling him.
So, having also not trained, it would be surprising if Stach was fit enough to play, given he’s got an actual broken bone.
Elsewhere, England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is only a minor doubt after a knock to his foot. He’s in Thomas Tuchel’s latest squad, so hopefully he’s fit enough to show why on Saturday.
Daniel Farke comments on Sean Longstaff starting possibility in Leeds United v Spurs
With Stach struggling, it could open the door for Sean Longstaff to get a long-awaited start. The £12million man enjoyed a strong cameo off the bench against Sunderland, but was then at fault off the bench for Bournemouth’s late dagger, giving the ball away before being nutmegged by Eli Junior Kroupi for Amine Adli’s goal.
However, Farke is impressed by what he’s seen from the 29-year-old of late.
“Every session provides opportunities. Sean for example, I liked his last appearances, he looked sharp. When important players like Noah and Anton are out, grab your chance with good performances,” Farke said, per the YEP.
“Sean is one of the players who had an impact in the last games, involved in creating chances, unlucky not to score.”
It has been almost a year since Longstaff’s last start in a Leeds shirt. He was last named in our starting XI at home to Aston Villa in November 2025, and looks to be knocking on the door amid Stach’s injury issues.
However, he didn’t cover himself in glory against the Cherries.
