"Leeds could..." - BBC pundit gives honest Leeds United assessment ahead of Bournemouth clash
Leeds United are back in action on Saturday when they make the long trip down south to take on Bournemouth.
Both meetings between the two sides last campaign ended in 2-2 draws, as there was nothing to separate the teams.
Ahead of the game, Daniel Farke confirmed in his press conference that Nico Elvedi has recovered from his illness and is available, whilst Anton Stach remains a doubt, similar to last week.
Ian Wright predicted United will lose the game tomorrow against Bournemouth, whilst Jamie Carragher predicted a draw between the two sides.
Now, a BBC pundit has also shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash.
Chris Sutton gives honest Leeds United assessment ahead of Bournemouth game
It was Sean Longstaff who scored a last-minute equaliser during our last trip to the Vitality Stadium, and the midfielder could get a chance to repeat these heroics, especially if Stach is still not at 100%.
Following United’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland last weekend, Chris Sutton admitted that whilst Farke’s side are not the best at breaking down the opposition team, they are hard to beat, and this could be enough to ensure they pick up another positive result on the road against a side who are playing in Europe this season.
“Bournemouth are flying at the moment, with successive wins over Aston Villa, Manchester United and AC Milan,” Sutton began by saying in his Premier League predictions column for BBC Sport.
“Leeds are extremely well structured, however, even if they are not free-scoring this season.
“I am sure Daniel Farke would like his team to score more goals, but they don’t give away a lot either.
“Bournemouth are on a great run, but I wonder how much the past week has taken out of them, and that makes me think Leeds could nick a point.”
Sutton then went on to predict a 1-1 draw.
It won’t be popular, but another dull draw would be a good result for Leeds
I think large sections of our fanbase are beginning to get a little bit unsettled with our lacklustre attacking output in recent weeks.
Against Sunderland, Man United and Crystal Palace, we created very little of note. So I think most of our fans’ patience is quite thin at the minute. Particularly if we played out another drab 0-0 draw.
However, I, for one, would snap your hand off for this result.
Farke’s analysis was spot on in his press conference. We already have the second-best defence in the league so far; if we had one of the best attacks too, we’d be in a title race, which of course is unrealistic.
Can we do better in the final third? Absolutely.
But right now, we’re not in a position to be turning our noses up at draws. Especially away from home and especially against sides who are in Europe.
Bournemouth have won their last five games in all competitions. So if you offered me another dull 0-0 draw now, I’d take it, even if it could put some of the travelling supporters to sleep.
