Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher in disagreement over Bournemouth v Leeds United clash
Leeds United play their second away game in as many weeks when they travel down south to take on Bournemouth.
The last time United visited the Vitality, a late Sean Longstaff screamer ensured we returned to West Yorkshire with a point after drawing 2-2.
Whilst it’s pretty clear we were going to stay up at that point, the fact that it meant Tyler Adams was forced to eat a healthy serving of humble pie made it one of my most satisfying results of the season.
Now, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright have had their say on the clash between the two sides scheduled for Saturday. However, the pundits have contrasting opinions.
Ian Wright tips Bournemouth to beat Leeds – Jamie Carragher disagrees
In the Super 6 prediction section on the latest episode of The Overlap, both Wright and Carragher gave their predictions for United’s latest fixture.
Wright is on the same team as Roy Keane when doing these predictions, and they both agreed that “Leeds are hard. Leeds are decent.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin did not even manage to have a shot during our 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light last weekend. Despite this, Wright tipped our target man to get back on the scoresheet.
“I think Calvert-Lewin nicks a goal in this,” Wright said.
“Dominic’s in that vibe; I’m gonna give Leeds a goal, but I think Bournemouth will beat them.”
Wright’s team for the predictions, which also includes Jill Scott, agreed that the Cherries will beat Leeds 2-1.
However, Carragher, who is partnered with Gary Neville when doing these predictions, disagreed.
“1-1”, Carragher quickly replied in response to Wright and Co’s prediction.
This game has got ‘draw’ written all over it
Both of our games against Bournemouth last season ended in 2-2 draws.
Also, in the last campaign, Bournemouth drew the most games in the Premier League with 18. We drew the second most with 14 games.
Already this season we have played out five draws whilst the Cherries have three to their name. So, in other words, it doesn’t take a genius to predict what the most likely outcome is for the game on Saturday.
So often under Daniel Farke in the Premier League, it looks as though we set up to take a point when we are on the road. I imagine this will be the case once again.
Bournemouth have won their last five games in a row as things look like they are beginning to click under their new boss, Marco Rose.
During this run, they beat AC Milan 3-0 at home in the Europa League. This is before they went to Old Trafford just three days later and secured another 3-0 win.
To be honest, another point would do for me this weekend, and if Farke’s men can secure this, it will be another good result for the Whites.
