Despite being in October, a few of Leeds United’s players have been linked with transfer moves away.
Tarik Muharemovic is one, with the Bosnian centre-back attracting the attention of some of Europe’s elite clubs. However, I’m not too concerned, as the sources reporting this are not the most reliable.
However, the latest transfer news that has recently emerged will leave Leeds supporters shell-shocked.
It includes one of Daniel Farke’s star players and our bitter rivals, Man United.
Man United consider a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin in January
According to a report from The Athletic, Man United are said to be exploring the striker market in January. One of the names in consideration is Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The 29-year-old, who has five goals to his name already this season in all competitions, is said to have been on our rivals’ radar for some time now.
Man United’s recruitment team are evaluating whether a move would be possible in January; however, thankfully, the report implies that this is unlikely.
Calvert-Lewin is one of our most important assets, and the 49ers are seemingly expected to fight tooth and nail to keep the forward.
Calvert-Lewin’s current deal with the real United runs out in the summer of 2028, but Leeds are said to want to tie him down to a new deal.
Given the emergence of this latest transfer talk, you’d assume that the Whites will make this one of their top priorities moving forward.
Losing Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be disastrous
Only a couple of weeks ago Calvert-Lewin was grabbing the Leeds badge on his shirt after sending Elland Road wild following his equaliser against our most famous foe.
So surely he couldn’t move there in January. Surely not! I’m going to have to keep telling myself this.
In 2026, quality strikers who are capable of scoring double-digit goals in the Premier League are hard to come by.
Leeds have one.
We cannot afford to lose him. Not to them lot. Certainly not in January.
If the 49ers sanctioned this move, there’d be chaos at Elland Road, which is why I’m confident it won’t materialise and definitely not in January.
Given how prolific Calvert-Lewin has been, it’s no surprise he’s attracting the attention of other clubs. Especially Man United, who are currently a club in crisis with no wins in their last eight.
But in January, Calvert-Lewin shouldn’t be for sale. At any price.
