Jesse Marsch wants to keep Leeds United‘s Jack Harrison at Elland Road this window, who reportedly remains a target for multiple sides across the Premier League this January.
Arsenal are interested in Harrison according to Leeds Live, who believe the Gunners may turn to Harrison as an alternative to Mykhailo Mudryk, who signed for Chelsea last week ahead of them.
Leeds All Over sources have indicated to us that at least two bids were tabled for the 26-year-old during the summer window from long-term admirers Newcastle United, whilst Tottenham Hotspur still remain keen.
Harrison has 18 months remaining on his contract and Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett has revealed that Leeds are not wanting to let the Harrison leave this month, whilst also confirming Leicester City are interested in Harrison’s services as well.

Marsch is intent on keeping the player, as he outlined in his press conference prior to Leeds’ FA Cup clash with Accrington Stanley. He was questioned on whether he was aware of the speculation linking Harrison away from the club, he said:
“Yeah I’ve heard, I haven’t read anything, but heard from different people that there’s things about Jack out there.”

However, Marsch dismissed any idea of Harrison departing by outlining his importance in the first-team squad, he added: “I will say that his commitment to being here has been amazing. He’s in incredible form and I think he’s played well in every match since he got back from his injury and he’s an important guy for us.”
The head coach emphasised the need for Harrison remaining at Elland Road beyond the deadline day next week, adding that he hasn’t even thought to speak to the winger about the rumours, he said: “I haven’t even discussed it with Jack, because for me it’s really clear. He is an important player for us and he’s on track and we need him. He’ll be ready for Saturday as well.”

It’s good to see Marsch doubling down on keeping the winger.
Hopefully the club can retain him this window and sign a new contract some time beyond that. Protectinh him as an asset and player is important, even with Leeds’ wealth of wide attackers at their disposal currently.
Marsch is right, Leeds need him in their current position. The club’s precarious position in the table means that they can ill afford to lose someone of Harrison’s technical capabilities, even if he is inconsistent.
