Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is set to sign a new contract at the club, according to reports, in a big show of faith from the 49ers.
United’s start to this season has outlined that Daniel Farke is well on his way to consolidating this club back in the Premier League for the long run.
There’s of course plenty of work to do with just seven games gone. However, it’s about time that his work was recognised in a formal manner with a new contract being offered.
Daniel Farke set to sign new Leeds United contract until 2029
The Athletic reported at the back end of last week that Farke has a broad agreement in principle with Leeds to sign a new contract.
It comes after multiple questions from the press around his future. At the time of writing with no official announcement, Farke’s current contract is up at the end of the season. So, it’s been a topic that needs addressing.
Now, it looks as though that has been wrapped up. Farke and the club are aligned on an extension until the summer of 2029.
In the meantime, it’s also reported by Adam Pope that the German has parted company with his agent in order to facilitate this agreement.
Noah Okafor no doubt delighted as Daniel Farke set to confirm Leeds United contract
There can be some reservations over giving Farke a huge new contract. We’re only 11 months into his turnaround at Premier League level, and questions are raised about his scalability to the top end of the division.
However, it’s a sign of real trust in the manager that he’s definitely earned in that time span. Not only that, but backing the manager also builds on the unified front that Farke has fostered in West Yorkshire. There’s never been a time when the players haven’t pulled in the same direction as the man in the dugout.
Someone who signifies that more than most is Noah Okafor. The Swiss winger was having a tough time of it in Italy before his £18million Elland Road move. Now, he has been reinvigorated by Farke, who has platformed him to be a very dangerous Premier League winger.
“I’m really happy to have a coach like him, who pushes me every day. Also, to be straight with me when I make mistakes. He gives me freedom upfront to do what I was born for. This is why we play football,” Okafor told the BBC this month.
Perhaps a window into how the Leeds winger has received the news of Farke’s pending extension is through his mother Nicole’s reaction on social media.
I posted a reaction to the news on Instagram, and in the comments was Okafor’s mother with a love heart emoji. It’s not groundbreaking insight by any means. But, it does indicate how the manager is viewed in Okafor’s inner circle, which is incredibly well.
So, you can deduce that a new deal for Farke is going to be well received in the squad. Everyone in the side clearly wants him as our manager. Seeing him here long-term could get even more out of Okafor and multiple others.
So, Leeds United are giving manager Daniel Farke a new contract to 2029 as the press say.
Farke have done a good things for the Club and hopefully that will continue.
Leeds Utd. must be happy of his job.
But if they want more sucsess for the Club they must get a new manager.
Farke have done as well as he can, but will at the best hold a status co.
