Fulham’s 2-2 draw against Blackburn last night was a great result for Leeds United in their bid to remain in the play-off’s. A 94th minute equaliser from Rovers’ Lucas João cancelled out what looked like a winner from Gohi Cyriac to ensure Fulham remained just outside the play-off places.

With just 9 games to go Leeds sit nicely in 4th on 66 points, 5 clear of Fulham in 7th. The whites have some tough fixtures remaining including a home tie against Brighton and an away trip to Newcastle and it is vital that they continue to pick up points and don’t burst under pressure.

I think that the top nine teams will remain in the top nine and the two who currently sit in first and second (Newcastle and Brighton) will remain in their respective positions until the end. This leaves 7 teams fighting it out for four play-off places. There’s still plenty to play for, and a lot of the top nine still have each other to play; Leeds themselves have five out of nine fixtures against teams around them.

I’ve had a go at predicting the results for the top nine’s remaining fixtures, although this is probably far from how the majority of games will pan out.

If results go that way, the final league table will look like this:

I’d be very happy if we finished the season in 4th place. I think facing Fulham in the play-off’s would be a very tough task especially considering how well they’ve played against us in the league this year. It would mark a massive step up from previous seasons and just shows how well Garry Monk, his coaching staff and his players have done.
