Would it be Leeds without some negative news when all is rosy? Samu Saiz appears to be on his way back to sunny Spain. If it is for family reasons as reported then I can’t be too critical of him. Although the reported loan deal isn’t exactly impressive. With all that in mind, who’s starting against Bolton?
GK – Bailey Peacock-Farrell – The rumours are swirling about Leeds signing a keeper in January, with Keiren Westwood said to be top of the list. Until that actually happens though, it’s all on BPF.
RB – Jamie Shackleton – Shackleton had a great game against QPR and against a struggling Bolton side, will have another chance to show his attacking abilities.
CB – Aapo Halme – With the news that Samu Saiz is all but out of the door, that has a knock-on effect for the rest of the team, starting with CB. Halme has looked very capable in all his games so far, a first start at Bolton is a nice acclimatising fixture for him.
CB – Pontus Jansson – We saw peak Pontus against QPR and if he is joined by yet another CB partner, he’ll have to lead by example.
LB – Barry Douglas – All I can think about Douglas is that surely it’s about time he scored a goal. What better time than this Saturday?
CDM – Kalvin Phillips – The move back to the position he made his own should do wonders for himself and the team, his range of passing has been missed these last few games.
CM – Adam Forshaw – Now that Saiz is history, Forshaw will need to provide a bit more of a creative spark than he has been doing. Not that he’s been bad, but we just need to see a little bit more going forward.
CAM – Mateusz Klich – After Klich’s ridiculous start to the season, he’s been a bit quiet these last few games. I’m not sure he’s suited to playing the number 10 role, we’ll see how that goes, especially with Izzy Brown coming back into the picture, who could now be the signing of the season if he comes back to form.
RW – Pablo Hernandez – Speaking of number 10’s, I could see Pablo playing there on Saturday also if Bielsa doesn’t fancy playing Halme from the start yet, meaning KP would continue at centre-back and so on.
LW – Jack Clarke – Yes, Alioski was okay against QPR. However, he still offers absolutely nothing going forward at the moment and our standards have to be higher in what we demand from a winger. Saiz going out gives us less creativity so we need Clarke in to counter that.
ST – Kemar Roofe – It’s not often a striker would be disappointed with two goals but Roofe will have been last Saturday, he should have had at least five. The ideal scenario tomorrow is for Roofe to score three then be replaced by Bamford to score as well.
Let us know what team you would go with for tomorrow’s game!
