With one day to go, who are Leeds looking to sign?

|

In little over 24 hours time, the 2018 summer transfer window will be over for permanent deals, with clubs given until the 31st of August to complete loan deals. It seems more likely at this stage that Leeds will be in the loan market, but there’s still a chance of another permanent deal being done before 17:00 tomorrow.

So, who’s being linked with an Elland Road arrival?

Muhamed Bešić

Besic’s name has been all over the place this week, currently at Everton, the Bosnian defensive midfielder spent last season on loan at Boro and has been capped 31 times for his country. Besic can also fill in at centre-back which would make him an ideal candidate for Biesla’s side.

Albert Adomah

The Villa winger scored 15 times last season and I’m not entirely sure why Villa would let him leave, but Bielsa is said to be a big fan. According to The Guardian, Leeds are in a three-way battle with Forest and Boro for Adomah’s signature before tomorrow’s deadline. This would be a great signing if it did happen, as our wide options are somewhat limited. I can’t see us being willing to spend the sort of money Villa and Adomah would want, though. Boro have just sold Traore for around £18m so they will be hard to compete with.

Steven Caulker

This one is a blast from the past, the former Liverpool striking legend is currently at Dundee after a terrible few years. He seems to be getting back to his best in Scotland, with Rangers also looking to take him to Ibrox for around £1.5m. Given he would likely be a backup at first, this would be a relatively low-risk/high-reward deal. If he gets back to his best, then he starts ahead of Cooper, if not then we have an actual centre-back backup instead of using Kalvin Phillips.

Moussa Konaté

According to L’Équipe in France, Leeds and Brentford are considering a late offer for the Amiens striker. I can’t claim to know too much about him but he only joined Amiens from FC Sion last summer for €3.5m so it wouldn’t be a cheap deal.

Let us know who you want to see arrive before tomorrow’s deadline!
