With many injuries, who should start for Leeds v Derby?

The series of events that transpired to leave us with one fit CB is quite amazing really, but that’s what you get when you only have 3 CB’s at the club. This is the team I would play tomorrow:

GK – Rob Green – Not like there’s any doubt but Silvestri can’t have many fans left after that performance against Cambridge.

RB – Lewie Coyle – Coyle wasn’t excellent against Cambridge and he has been every time I’ve seen him play really, I’d have no problems throwing him in here.

CB – Luke Ayling – Ayling will have to play CB unless Cooper can pull off a miracle, so the Ayling-Bartley bromance can continue. He wasn’t great at CB against Liverpool but he was thrown into it off the bench and it was Liverpool so we can just hope for the best.

CB – Kyle Bartley – The other half of the bromance, our most consistent player this year for me. Hopefully Kyle and Luke can pull it together for our most important game in a long time.

LB – Gaetano Berardi – Can’t go wrong with Berardi, he’ll never let us down, I feel bad for him whenever he doesn’t play because he’s clearly at a level where he should be starting at this level every week.

Into midfield

CDM – Liam Bridcutt – It’s nice that we have a few more options in midfield now, captain Bridcutt has been great for us since coming back from injury, he’s so good at breaking up attacks and bringing the ball forward quickly.

CDM – Eunan O’Kane – It should be time for his return, we have missed him, although results haven’t dipped thankfully. It’ll be nice to have these two back together.

CAM – Pablo Hernandez – With all the injuries, having a full strength midfield is very exciting, I’m looking forward to seeing the passing between these three in-particular. Good to see that we signed Pablo up permanently with no issues, too.

Onto the forwards

RW – Kemar Roofe – Roofe is clearly better in the central role, but with Hernandez back he’s going to have to be a team player and influence the game from the wing, he does seem to be improving every week.

LW – Hadi Sacko – If he’s fit, Sacko has to play purely for his pacey threat, hopefully he improves on his decision-making and finishing, oh and add passing to that too.

ST – Chris Wood – Back to full fitness, if you discount the defence it’s actually a very strong team and I’m excited to see us play tomorrow night. If I was having a bet, I’d have a tenner on Wood to score first.

With this team it’s been very much a next-man-up policy and that’s why I still expect us to win tomorrow, despite the fact most would struggle with that many defensive changes. I’m going for a 2-0 win, similar to the Villa game.
