Leeds United forward Willy Gnonto has become subject to strong interest elsewhere in the Premier League, including Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

This Premier League season has again threatened Leeds with relegation, and with such fears come speculation around some of their key players.

Players such as Willy Gnonto are bound to attract serious transfer interest regardless of whether Leeds stay in the top flight or not, but Leeds will be hoping to stand a fighting chance of keeping him by retaining their Premier League status once again.

Reports are already emerging, though, linking the Italian international with a move away from Elland Road.

Here, we look at all the latest on Gnonto as talk of a big-money transfer intensifies…

Who is linked from the Premier League?

Fronting the queue of clubs reportedly keen on signing Gnonto are Premier League trio Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea – per Gazzetta dello Sport.

This comes following insight from Gary Neville during the defeat to Aston Villa that Gnonto struck him as a player readymade for a big move, as he spoke on Sky Sports:

“Leeds fans won’t like me for saying this but when you look at a player like [Wilfried] Gnonto and how Manchester City play by playing those little passes into those midfield runners, he just looks like a Manchester City winger.

“Leeds fans won’t like me saying that because I’m not selling him off. I’m sure they want to see him for another few years at Leeds United. He looks really, really good. So mature in his decision-making.”

Interest from Serie A

Teams from Gnonto’s homeland of Italy is also present, with Juventus one of the sides most strongly linked, reportedly weighing up a swap deal to see Weston McKennie move in the other direction to Elland Road – via CalcioMercatoWeb.

90min add to this Serie A interest, claiming Juve are also joined by AS Roma, AC Milan, Napoli and Atalanta in wanting to sign him.

The Gazzetta report from above does underline that Gnonto’s former club Inter Milan are not in the running at the moment.
