Will Heckingbottom stick with 4-4-2 at Leeds, who’ll start v Sheffield United?

Felix Wiedwald

Paul Heckingbottom was known as a 4-4-2 man at Barnsley, whereas Leeds under Monk and Christiansen have rigidly stuck to a 4-2-3-1. There’s no question that when Samu Saiz is back from suspension that a 4-4-2 won’t work, he’s our best player and we wouldn’t be getting the best out of him playing like that.

However, the game against Sheffield United is unlikely to be the prettiest of spectacles so we’ll presume Heckingbottom will go with his preferred 4-4-2. With that in mind, this is the team we believe will start on Saturday.

GK – Felix Wiedwald – Felix has been at his best recently so hopefully the change in manager won’t change that. The keeper coach hasn’t changed so that should be beneficial to him.

Into the defence…

    • I think there’ll be more changes than stated here, yes de Bock at LB, Roberts with Roofe, drop Alioski for Hernandez, and Vieira to partner Phillips. Agree Vieira not been great with Forshaw. I’d be happy if we finish with 11 men and 0-0.

  1. Load of crap allioski and roofe need to dropped been shite most of the season need some strong players not ones that roll all over the floor when u touch them roofe wants to pull is socks up and take is gloves off and run around if hes cold

  2. Le Bock to start Kane in middle and Robberts up front a game we have to win. Philips and Roofe not good enough.

  3. Agree with Graham and Steve. Rubbish selection !!
De Bock must start at left back and comment about Forshaw doesn’t seem to match what the rest of us think.
The way Roofe has been performing Roberts should go in front of him. He will want to prove himself and this type of game where it will be more about pace, strength etc rather than skill. The helter skelter of it all will suit somebody from a lower league.

  4. Midfield has been our weakness for a long time now.
I would play Forshaw, Phillips & O’Kane in midfield, with Phillips pushing forward.
Dallas, Lassogia & Hernandez in attack.
