Rodrigo has been called back into the Spain squad, but Leeds United teammate Diego Llorente has missed out on Luis Enrique’s 25-man selection for fixtures with Greece and Sweden.

Leeds have been battling away in the Premier League in recent weeks, with Rodrigo and Llorente at the heart of that.

Rodrigo has two goals in two Premier League games, whilst Llorente has been putting in a seriously impressive shift defensively.

After a period away from the national side, Rodrigo has been rewarded with a return to the Spain squad. However, it isn’t good news for Llorente, who isn’t included after a couple of niggling injuries have hampered his involvement in the opening 10 games of the season.

Leeds fans are delighted for Rodrigo and are hoping to see in only add to the 30-year-old’s confidence. Whilst there’s a sense of disappointment when it comes to Llorente, they feel it’s perhaps a good thing given his injury record:

We know how strikers rely on confidence, so a couple of goals and an international call-up for Rodrigo is going to do him the world of good.

Leeds have relied on him heavily in Patrick Bamford’s absence and he’s put a real shift in, which deserves credit.

As for Llorente, it’s hard on him because he’s played well. However, it’s also a good thing for Leeds, who rely on him heavily.

Llorente has picked up a lot of injuries in the last couple of years and Leeds will be happy to see him wrapped in cotton wool for a couple of weeks after Leicester.
