Plenty of Leeds United fans have been raving about the potential of 15-year-old Archie Gray.

That’s after the attacker produced another impressive performance for the club’s Under 21s in the EFL Trophy, this time against Tranmere Rovers’ senior side.

In the end, it was something of a disappointing night for Leeds’ youngsters in the trophy. With a number of the club’s more senior academy players unavailable, it was a very young Whites side who took on Tranmere.

That made led to a rather productive night for the League Two side, who eventually ran out 4-1 winners at Prenton Park.

However, one positive for Leeds was certainly the performance of Gray. The 15-year-old, who has already featured for the Under 23s as well, more than held his own against vastly more experienced players, and it was his pinpoint through ball that set up Amari Miller for Leeds’ goal, making Gray the youngest player to provide an assist in the EFL Trophy.

Perhaps not surprisingly therefore, plenty of Leeds fans were keen to express their excitement about Gray, as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game.

Here, we take a look at what some of those Whites supporters had to say.

You can’t really blame Leeds United fans for being excited about Gray after recent outings.

For him to not only be holding his own, but making an impact against players with so much more experience than him, just shows the quality and maturity that he possesses.

Indeed, given his links with Leeds from such an early an early age, there will surely be a strong desire from all connected with the club, to see him succeed at Elland Road.

With that in mind, if his career does continue along the trajectory it is currently, it would be no huge surprise to see him in and around the first-team sooner rather than late.
