Leeds United could see more movement in and out of the club in their attack as the January window heads to a close next week.
As much as Georginio Rutter was the only arrival expected in the January window, there could be more that happens with the front at Leeds this week.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail are reporting that either of these sides would have to stump up an offer amounting to around £35million to tempt Leeds into selling.
Whether or not Leeds are considering his exit might hinge on two players elsewhere, with Leeds looking to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus in a deal that could cost up to £35million.
Being able to bring in the cash to spend right away on McKennie could be a driving force behind the Whites considering accepting such a high fee.
Will Leeds sign a midfielder before the January deadline?
On top of this, journalist Ryan Taylor has shared insight on Dan James’ future at Fulham, with his loan deal now in huge doubt as the Cottagers close in the loan signing of Cedric Soares from Arsenal, taking them above the allowed number of loans in a Premier League squad (2):
“Fulham have currently filled Premier League loan quota and therefore can only complete Cédric Soares loan deal if they send Shane Duffy or Dan James back to Brighton or Leeds, respectively. Appears one is imminent.”
There’s a decent chance that either Leeds are set to welcome James back to the squad this month, or sell him permanently to Fulham.
Should Leeds accept an offer for Harrison, it might be in the club’s interests to recall James, just to add more cover to the squad behind the likes of Willy Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra, Crysencio Summerville and others.
James justifiably wasn’t many fans’ cup of tea after his performances since joining for £25million, but if he’s fourth or fifth choice, it’s a testament to our depth.
