Leeds United have been touted as the most likely destination of Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, as he looks for regular game time.

The Whites have been struck with injury crises from the moment they embarked on their Premier League journey.

All of nine minutes away to Chelsea has been the only time we’ve had all of our defenders available to play, before Robin Koch was taken off with a knee injury.

Diego Llorente has struggled ever since signing and Liam Cooper’s knock away at Old Trafford last month has stretched the defence very thin.

Despite having no fit senior centre-backs, Pascal Struijk and Luke Ayling have done a great job together in the meantime.

With the January transfer window underway, there is a chance for Leeds to potentially plug this gap temporarily.

Bielsa has moved to rule out a move for a centre-back but the BBC have reported that Leeds remain the ‘likeliest destination’ for Chelsea’s out-of-favour centre-back Fikayo Tomori.

The 22-year-old has struggled for minutes this season and could benefit from going out and getting regular playing time, which Leeds would be able to offer until players return.

Plenty of fans were keen to offer their thoughts on a temporary move for one of Chelsea’s prized youngsters…

I’m not too convinced it’s a signing that works for all parties.

Chelsea and Tomori will want assurances that he’ll play, and we can’t guarantee that for the season once Koch and Llorente are back.

We’re doing just fine with Ayling and Struijk at the back in my opinion and unsettling the squad isn’t ideal.

That’s not to say Tomori isn’t a good addition because he’s a fantastic talent and deserves to be a Premier League regular, but the shoe doesn’t fit for me.

Defensive injuries come and go, and you can’t stake a player’s game time purely on other’s not being there.
