Tonge, 31, previously joined Leeds in January 2013 after his initial loan spell was made a permanent deal. He has featured 67 times for the Yorkshire outfit, scoring a total of 5 times.

Tonge was rumoured with a loan move to Bradford, however it has now been made apparent that a switch to Championship Side Millwall is where the ex-Stoke City player will end up after deadline day.

The news was broken via Twitter shortly after 1pm, with Phil Hay tweeting – “Done deal – Leeds midfielder Michael Tonge joins Millwall on loan until the end of the season.

“That’ll be the end of Tonge’s career at Leeds. He’s out of contract in the summer.”

It was recently rumoured that Tonge was to feature in a swap deal to bring 29 year old Millwall Winger Martyn Woolford to Elland Road, however this deal looked unlikely until this news was announced.

Lee Sobot of the Yorkshire Evening Post then tweeted – “No indication yet that Martyn Woolford is going from Millwall to Leeds – crossing paths with Tonge – but United need left wing width.”
