Leeds United could find out next week if they are able to sign Conor Gallagher on loan this season.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail, who say Chelsea are yet to make a definitive decision on Gallagher’s future for the coming campaign.

It was reported earlier this week that Gallagher is attracting plenty of loan interest in the summer transfer window.

Leeds and Crystal Palace were both said to have made pitches for a temporary move for the 21-year-old.

Now it seems as though Chelsea are set to make a call on Gallagher’s destination for next season imminently.

According to this latest update, Leeds and Palace are hoping for news of Chelsea’s decision next week, while Newcastle are also said to have entered the race for Gallagher.

It is thought that Chelsea have no intention of letting the midfielder go permanently, as with those at Stamford Bridge viewing him as part of their long-term plans.

This will obviously be one worth keeping an eye on for Leeds in the coming days.

The Whites obviously need cover in the centre of midfield this summer for Kalvin Phillips, and Gallagher would provide that.

Indeed, given he has shown his ability in the Premier League on loan in the past with West Brom, Gallagher could be a very good option to fill that role.

However, with plenty of interest from elsewhere, there is still no guarantee that Leeds will get this done, meaning it could be something of a coup if they manage it.
