Leeds and Derby have played between them 103 matches in their history. Leeds currently have the most wins with 45 under their belt, Derby are some way behind with 34 wins while there have been 24 stalemates. We take a look at a very memorable game between the two teams from the 1997/1998 season. Not the 4-3 comeback at Elland Road in November ’97, but the return fixture at Pride Park in March ’98.

A George Graham Leeds team that contained the likes of Gary Kelly, Ian Harte, Lee Bowyer and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink earned a UEFA Cup spot with their 5th placed finish and their biggest win against the Rams is one of the highlights of a great season. Goals from Gunnar Halle, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Hasselbaink and an own goal from Jacob Laursen gave the Whites a 5-0 win at Pride Park.

Watch the highlights from that great game…

The Leeds team that faced Derby that day:

Martyn; Kelly, Hiden, Molenaar, Radebe, Harte; Halle, Halland, Bowyer, Kewell; Hasselbaink.
