Then there were two? Reading say no to Dolan.

Earlier on this afternoon, Reading’s DOF released a statement warning Leeds off their academy boss, Eamonn Dolan. Dolan has been hot favourite to become Leeds’ new head coach for the last couple of days. Some bookies had offered odds of 1/16 for Dolan to take over, but Reading have been quick to deny that he is going to leave for Elland Road.

The statement read: “Reading FC are aware of the interest of another Championship club in our Academy Manager Eamonn Dolan. Eamonn is an integral part of our club and is under contract to Reading Football Club.

“Eamonn has done an incredible job since taking over from Brendan Rodgers and we hope he will be a big part of our club for many years to come.

“He has a fantastic relationship with our manager Nigel Adkins and we do not welcome any approaches from any club for our key staff.

“We hope this is the end of the matter.”

For Leeds, however, Dolan was allegedly one of the “three candidates” to take over as Leeds’ head coach. The other two are Gary McAllister and Dave Hockaday. For me, I’d rather see McAllister take over and I have done ever since he was linked with the job. I genuinely believe he will do a good job this time. His style of football would suit the Championship much better than it did League One.

Maybe there could be another candidate who none of the media have thought of. Just look at McAllister; he was 50/1 this time last week.

Here are the odds with William Hill as of 7pm on the 10th June.

Who out of that list would you prefer to see in charge of Leeds?

Cellino has some big decisions to make. The court case against him, will he appeal? T he manager post, sale of Cagliari, cancellation of Cameron Stewart’s contract. Outgoing players, incoming players, the academy. Talk about things piling up. I think that we may see some headway in terms of the manager now that the winding petition has been dealt with. Time to move on. Too much to do snd no time to look back. U

You will never plough a straight furrow if you keep looking back. We can always reminisce about the good times and quickly forget the not so good times. Its now time to push on and bring the glory days back to our famous club…….together……..marching on together.
