Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz has picked up a cruel ACL injury, ending his terrific stint at UD Ibiza early.

Injuries this season have been nothing short of laughable for Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa, with first team and under-23 players picking up major setbacks.

Just as the end looks in sight, more players pick up issues and set us back even further when looking to establish some consistency.

It’s not limited to Thorp Arch where these injuries are taking place either though.

After Ian Poveda’s promising Blackburn Rovers loan was cut short due to injury, Mateusz Bogusz has suffered a similar fate with UD Ibiza confirming an ACL injury for him.

Having been forced off in the 5-0 win over Malaga, Bogusz now requires surgery to fix his knee injury, prematurely ending his season in Spain’s second tier:

There’s just no end in sight to the injuries in the Leeds squad, and with the season Bogusz was having (four goals, seven assists), it’s a sickening one to take.

Fans weren’t pleased with this update, gutted for the 20-year-old…

Rotten luck.

This really looked like the season where Bogusz had managed to kick on after an underwhelming 2020/21 campaign.

He was on fire and scoring some outstanding goals in Spain’s second tier, and could have come back to us a transformed player.

Just like I don’t think it will be a huge dampener to Poveda’s drive to improve, I believe Bogusz still has a great future and will be looking to get back to his best next term.
