Leeds United have been drawn against Crawley Town in the third round of the FA Cup, following Monday night’s draw for the next stage of the competition.

The tie is scheduled to take place at Crawley’s Broadfield Stadium over the weekend of the 8th to the 11th January next year, and plenty of Leeds fans have already been reacting to the draw on social media.

As a Premier League team, Leeds will once again enter the FA Cup at the third round stage of the competition, along with the rest of the top-flight and Championship teams.

Crawley meanwhile, have already come through two rounds of the competition, beating National League Torquay 6-5 in a first round thriller, before upsetting League One Wimbledon 2-1 in the second round at the weekend.

The League Two side’s reward for that is a home tie against Premier League opposition in the form of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of that draw, plenty of Leeds fans were keen to see their side enjoy a decent cup run this season, while others joked about their prospects against lower league opposition.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.

On the whole, this looks to be a fairly decent draw for Leeds.

It should give Marcelo Bielsa the opportunity to give some of his fringe and youth players a decent run out, in a game they ought to win regardless of that.

But having already been upset in the League Cup by Hull this season, you feel no one around Elland Road will be taking this game for granted.

Indeed, with some of those Premier League sides who are involved in Europe likely to play much weaker sides to cope with the demand of the fixture schedule, there could be an opportunity for a strong cup run for Leeds here, provided they get the job done in games such as this one.
