Plenty of Leeds United fans have been discussing reports linking the club with a move for Ross Barkley.

The former Leeds loanee is seemingly attracting interest from Elland Road again, something which has prompted a mixed reaction among the fanbase.

Since joining Chelsea in 2018, Barkley has struggled to really establish himself at Stamford Bridge, and was loaned out to Aston Villa last season.

However, no permanent deal materialised for the 27-year-old, who remains a Chelsea player for now, although that may not be the case for much longer.

According to recent reports from 90Min, Leeds, along with Newcastle and Burnley, are interested in signing Barkley, who it is thought is free to leave Chelsea in January when the window reopens.

Perhaps not surprisingly, a number of Leeds fans were keen to discuss the prospect of a return to Elland Road for Barkley as they took to Twitter to discuss those links.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say about that potential transfer.

You can understand why there appears to have been a mixed response to these links among Leeds supporters.

Barkley is certainly a player who has the ability to make an impact in the Premier League, as he has shown on occasions before.

However, that is not something that he has managed to do consistently, meaning there doesn’t seem to be much guarantee he would make a difference at Elland Road.

As a result, this could be something of a risk for Leeds, especially if Chelsea demand big money for him, so you feel the Whites ought to consider other options before pursuing a deal for the 27-year-old.
