Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has shared his reaction to the club’s survival from relegation on the final day.

The dust has now settled on Leeds’ hectic final day in the Premier League, where Jesse Marsch’s side became the first club since Wigan in 2011 to climb out of the bottom three on matchday 38.

They did so with a late win away to Brentford, while Burnley lost at home to Newcastle, sparking huge celebrations amongst players, staff, and fans.

Illan Meslier is the latest to react to the news of Leeds’ safety and the season in general, where he was integral once again despite the defence’s issues (via Instagram):

Do Leeds need another goalkeeper?

Yes

No

No

Where would we be without the Iceman?

For certain, it would be in the Championship, given the sheer volume of quality saves he’s made this season and how often he’s been forced into action each week.

A more conservative approach from Marsch might relieve some of the pressure on the Frenchman next term though, knowing we’re not going to be man-for-man against every team that’s better than us.

He’s only going to get better and with heavy investment this summer, we could see even more out of him in a better team.
