The 4-0 win over Birmingham was Brian McDermott’s 20th competitive game as Leeds boss. Andrew Dalton (@lufcstats) has put together some stats from those games.

So far our new gaffer has had 20 games in charge, 5 last season and 15 this season, Below is a break down of all his games:

Last season is was played 5 won 3 lost 2 scored 6 conceded 5

This season it has been played 15 won 7 lost 6 drew 2 scored 19 conceded 17, so in total played 20 won 10 lost 8 drew 2, scored 25 and conceded 22.! 50% Win ratio is not bad going!

In those 20 games he used just 26 different players!

Paddy Kenny, Sam Byram, Jason Pearce, Stephen Warnock, Adam Drury, Paul Green, Rodolph Austin, David Norris, Luke Varney, Ross McCormack, Steve Morison, El Hadji-Diouf, Aidy White, Michael Tonge, Tom Lees, Davide Somma, Lee Peltier, Michael Brown, Dominic Poleon, Ryan Hall, Luke Murphy, Matt Smith, Noel Hunt, Zac Thompson, Scott Wootton, and Alex Mowatt.

His highest victory was the impressive 4-0 win over Birmingham last Sunday live on television

His worst victory was the 3-1 defeat at Derby 3 weeks ago. We haven’t been beaten by more then 2 goals under McDermott.

Finally he has picked Stephen Warnock, Lee Petlier, Paul Green and Rudy Austin as captains in these 20 games.

  1. I was looking at our 1973-74 title winning results a couple of days ago and if we hadn’t have come good winning our last three we would have blown it even with that great side . 13 games from the end we had a 10 game spell of W 2. D 4. L 4. I mention this to calm down the looneys who are already calling for B Mc D to go . In the circumstances we find ourselves he must be given at least a second full season .
