Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has reacted to claims from Jamie Redknapp of a rift between him and Marcelo Bielsa.

Saturday’s clash at Brighton was by no means a great performance and plenty of the post-match discourse was regarding Bielsa’s decision to hook Phillips at half-time.

The England international was poor in the first half and not getting any joy as the Seagulls got on top, and Bielsa’s decision paid off as Leeds held out for a draw while looking more solid in the second half.

It still led to Sky Sports’ Jamie Redknapp claiming that this substitution could only have come as a result of off-field dramas between the two.

However, Phillips has now subtly reacted to these bizarre claims as he liked an Instagram post from WALMOT TV suggesting Redknapp in fact has no idea about the goings on at Thorp Arch:

It seemed hilarious to even think this was the case with Phillips and Bielsa.

It’s not the first time he’s been subbed off early in a game and it potentially won’t be the last, but Redknapp clearly didn’t research that.

If Phillips had kicked up a fuss and made something out of the situation, then I can perhaps understand the claims that he’s not happy, but he’s been here before like every other player our squad.

Nothing to see here, move along.
