Rodrigo Moreno is seemingly an injury doubt for Leeds United’s trip to Nottingham Forest this coming weekend.

Leeds are heading to the City Ground looking for a first Premier League win since November 5th on Sunday, with Jesse Marsch boasting strong attacking options following Patrick Bamford’s return to fitness and Georginio Rutter’s arrival.

However, Rodrigo remains the key man at Elland Road having struck 12 goals this season, with his potential absence undoubtedly a blow.

Discussing Rodrigo on the BBC podcast Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet, Adam Pope touched on the speculation surrounding the 31-year-old suffering an ankle knock.

”Rodrigo is an interesting one. There’s nothing official but there’s lots of talk that he might’ve injured an ankle. We will have to see. We won’t know until we speak to Jesse officially, the club aren’t going to say anything because you don’t want to say anything in a window, do you? There’s a lot of talk that he might’ve picked up a knock. Let’s wait and see.”

That information is similar to what was relayed to Leeds All Over on Monday, with sources indicating that a training ground knock has been picked up.

Rodrigo has started 17 games in the Premier League this season for Leeds, failing to make the starting line-up just once of the games he’s been available for.

Rodrigo’s absence against Nottingham Forest would be a serious blow for Leeds this weekend.

You can accept that there’s depth there in a returning Bamford and Rutter, yet Rodrigo has been the go-to man for goals this season and is a player that Marsch has been placing a lot of responsibility with.

The game this weekend is hugely important for Leeds. They can’t afford to lose to Forest and fall six points behind them in the table, a result like that sends two sides in the bottom third of the division heading in very different directions.

Marsch will want his key men available to him.
