After the signings of Cooper, Bellusci and Del Fabro in the summer transfer window, it would appear that Leeds United have not finished recruiting for the centre-back position.

It would appear that Leeds are linked to Sol Bamba, a 29 year old, 6ft3 centre-back with 44 international caps for the Ivory Coast. The link first appeared on tuttomercatoweb.com last night, stating – “the Leeds Cellino is thinking seriously. Contacts in progress, you can arrive early the white smoke.”

This morning, Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post also confirmed this link when he tweeted – “Reports in Italian press linking Leeds to Palermo centre-back Sol Bamba this morning are spot on. Definitely someone Leeds are interested in.”

Bamba already has both Scottish Premier League and English Championship experience, playing 188 times in his careers at Dunfermline, Hibernian and Leicester City. After joining in the summer, Bamba has only featured once this season for Palermo and questions of his future there are in some doubt.

With Redfearn stating he is interested in bringing in players with Championship experience, Bamba may very much be on the radar this transfer window.
