Leeds United fell to a very limp 2-0 defeat away to Brighton on Saturday, in one of the worst performances under Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds had a lot to be confident about coming into this weekend, thanks their six-game unbeaten run.

Results against Man City, Liverpool and Man United showed a different side to Leeds’ previously chaotic defensive setup.

However, it was quite clear the side were struggling to deal with the absence on Kalvin Phillips again.

Goals in either half from Pascal Groß and Danny Welbeck saw Brighton earn a deserved 2-0 win, while Leeds barely put up a fight.

Robert Sanchez was barely tested in the Seagulls goal and Bielsa was visibly fuming when the second goal went in, as he struck one of the seats on the bench.

It led to a pretty fierce reaction on Twitter to a poor performance…

That reaction says it all really.

The performance from start to finish wasn’t good enough, and that second goal topped it off.

It was a great take and finish by Welbeck but we gifted it to them with some shoddy defending.

Bielsa won’t be pleased at all with what he’s seen and expect these players to know about it this week.
