A deal to sign Leeds United’s Raphinha looks to be heading towards a conclusion for Chelsea this week as they start to discuss personal terms.

The main talking-point of the transfer window now is revolving around where Raphinha will be playing his football next season.

Multiple clubs have tried their hand at convincing Leeds to sell and convincing the player that they are the right destination.

Chelsea are in the driving seat at the moment for the Brazil international after they reached a breakthrough in negotiating a fee to sign him, with David Ornstein reporting of a fee “north of £55million” almost agreed.

The signing is by no means completed, but a major hurdle is almost cleared for the Blues and, and now, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that personal terms are on the agenda at Stamford Bridge.

A five-year deal is what is being offered for the winger by Chelsea, while other claims have also added that he is being handed a £120,000-per-week deal to sign for the club – per the Evening Standard.

Very hard to turn down.

While we would have loved to be able to tie him down to another contract, there’s no way we would have been able to do something like this, and retain a reasonable wage structure.

He is destined for the very top, and these sorts of offers show that we’re not the only ones who think it.

I do think he will thrive at Chelsea, if played in the right position.

It’s just a tough one to take to see him playing there, when he was such a favourite here.
