Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler has admitted that he has no complaints with the performance of his side despite them crashing out of the Capital One Cup at the first time of asking. This is the first time in Leeds’ history that they’ve been knocked out in the first round.

After a great start – with Lewis Cook grabbing his first Leeds goal – going 1-0 up after just 14 minutes, it looked as if Leeds would coast to victory. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Scott Wootton’s lunge on Cedric Evina brought Rovers a penalty, which Andy Williams converted. Lewis Cook then went from hero to zero as he was sent off for a two-footed tackle on Aaron Taylor-Sinclair.

United managed to get the game to penalties but misses from Byram and Wood saw the shootout go Doncaster’s way.

Rosler – speaking to LUTV – said, “That’s not what we wanted, we had to go all that way with ten men. We have to move on now.

“The players gave me everything, there are no complaints whatsoever. We have to look forward to the next game.

“The support we had was fantastic and the players gave everything back.”

Talking about Cook’s red card, Rosler was quick to defend the youngster, although he did think the foul was an unnecessary one.

“I think we should not be too harsh on Lewis. He scored his first goal in senior football and he was very excited. In that split second he was probably a bit too excited. So I’m not too harsh on him.

“He’ll feel low at the moment and we have to pick him up. The players have to pick him up. Lewis needs to keep himself fit and come back strong.”

Big shame, with the games we’ve got coming, it could not have played out much worse. Question marks over Doukara and Sloth, could do with shipping them out and bring in three or four in. MOT

that right Jan..perhaps get rid of Wootton replacing him with a proper Center Back of the same Quality as Bamba…we need more than what we have there,,and add a cover for Bamba and Bellusci..or replace and but Bellusci as a cover for the two

Rosler? Not going to last long! Mind you, Merlin the Magician wouldn’t last long in charge of those players either!

your Much to Harsh on Rosler it wasn’t him who got us the red card or gave away a penalty..look closer to home if your going to blame anyone..nothing much you can do when your playing catch up and when the players let you down..that wasn’t Rosler’s fault..and not sure what you mean about the Players? they are good players but a few of them let the rest down ..you cannot condemn the whole team and Rosler for the few..your clearly not a True Leeds supporter..
