Leeds United could yet be in the market for another midfielder as the start of the Premier League season nears.

Leeds have been very active in the transfer market under Jesse Marsch so far, making six signings already and in the hunt for more.

Losing Kalvin Phillips meant that at least two midfielders were going to be needed to ensure the side had enough quality and depth to take on the new season.

Tyler Adams, Marc Roca, and Darko Gyabi have all arrived to bolster Marsch’s midfield, and while the overall quality of the squad has been improved, there could be arguments made that another would be worthwhile.

With the side prioritising a striker as things stand, the Daily Mail are reporting that the club also could explore the market for another midfielder too.

Having loaned Jamie Shackleton to Millwall, Leeds currently have five senior names to choose from, in Adams, Roca, Gyabi, Mateusz Klich and Adam Forshaw.

A left-back and a goalkeeper are also up for discussion by the club this month.

A new midfielder would be very nice, but I don’t see us going out of our way to sign another big name.

We’ve spent a lot so far this summer and to make another for the midfield might be overkill when there are other areas to prioritise first.

We need a forward more than anything, and after that, Marsch needs another left-back as Junior Firpo proves not to be the one to rely on.

After all that business, I’m sure plenty of fans would love a move for a midfielder.
