Crysencion Summerville could be set to make his first start for Leeds United when they face Fulham in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

That’s according to a print edition of The Mirror, which says the winger could have a greater involvement than he did in the league at Newcastle on Friday.

Following an impressive debut campaign for Leeds’ Under 23s last season, Summerville has now worked his way onto the fringes of Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team.

The 19-year-old made his first senior appearance for Leeds in Friday night’s draw at Newcastle, coming off the bench as a 67th minute substitute.

That had seen him replace Raphinha, amid something of an injury concern for the Leeds talisman, which could open the door for a place in the XI for Summerville this evening.

According to this latest update, with a number of senior players – including Raphinha and fellow winger Jack Harrison – facing concerns over their availability, Bielsa could turn to his Under 23s against Fulham.

As a result, it is thought that Summerville will be given a “greater chance” to impress than he had against Newcastle a few days ago.

This looks like it will be a big opportunity for Summerville on Tuesday night.

There were some flashes of what he can do on Friday, but he didn’t really get the chance to fully impress against Newcastle.

Coming into the side from the start against Fulham would provide him with more time to do that, and given the situation around Raphinha and Harrison, it could be important that he is able to make an impact.

Indeed, if he is able to perform in the same way he has done for the Under 23s, there may be a good chance of him succeeding with that.
