Leeds United have agreed personal terms with 16-year-old Linfield midfielder Charlie Allen over a move to Elland Road, a report from Football Insider has claimed.

Allen, who is already starting to force his way into the first-team picture at Linfield with a handful of appearances for the Northern Irish champions.

Now it seems as though Allen is set to make the next big step in his football career, with the latest reports claiming that the teenager has agreed a deal to take him to Elland Road in the near future.

The deal is said to initially be a scholarship one, which will then become a professional contract when Allen turns 17 in November.

While the personal terms of the deal have been agreed, the transfer is apparently not yet complete, with paperwork to register the midfielder yet to be finalised.

It appears as though Leeds will be paying a fee of around £300,000 for Allen, having been said to have had a bid of that amount accepted by Linfield earlier this week.

If the deal is completed, then Leeds will have pulled off something of a coup in signing Allen, who has reportedly also attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Rangers this season.

Allen should already be well aware of what awaits him when he arrives at Elland Road, given Linfield are currently managed by former Leeds striker David Healy, who scored 31 goals in 121 appearances in all competitions for the Whites between 2004 and 2007.
