West Brom attacker Matheus Pereira could be open to a move to Leeds United this summer.

That’s according to a report from ESPN Brazil, who say that Pereira is interested in a move to Elland Road, despite his desire for European football next season.

After helping West Brom win promotion from the Championship during the 2019/20 season while on loan from Sporting Lisbon, Pereira made his move to The Hawthorns permanent last summer.

The Brazilian then went on to score 11 goals and provide six assists in 33 Premier League games last season, although he was unable to prevent the Baggies suffering relegation from the top-flight.

However, it seems Pereira himself could soon be back in the Premier League, with this latest update revealing that Leeds are one of a number of top-flight clubs keen on the 25-year-old.

It is thought that Marcelo Bielsa himself is keen on Pereira, who is said to be interested in a move to Elland Road.

However, the player would apparently prefer to have a chance to play European football, which is something West Ham – another of those said to be keen on the attacker – could offer him.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are the other Premier League clubs said to be keen in the attacker, while Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly provide interest from Germany.

You feel this is an opportunity that could be worth exploring for Leeds here.

Pereira was excellent despite West Brom’s relegation last season, so he could be an asset for a Leeds side looking to push on up the table in the coming campaign.

Indeed, it does seem as though Leeds are keen to add to that attacking midfield position this summer, so the fact Pereira could be open to this move should attract some attention from Elland Road you imagine.

Add to that the fact that Leeds are a club with clear ambitions to reach Europe sooner rather than later, and you do wonder if they could use that to help tempt Pereira to potentially make this move.
