Leeds United look to have missed out on Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho, with reports claiming Liverpool have won the race to sign him.

The Whites are looking at a tame end to the transfer window after looking like they were pushing hard for a midfield signing.

Plenty of names have been casually linked with the club, with few seeing concrete offers placed, mostly in the attacking midfield area.

Fulham sensation Fabio Carvalho has been linked with a move to Leeds via the Daily Mail, with clubs keeping tabs on his contract situation at present.

The youngster rejected a new contract at the club and his current deal is due to expire in the summer, putting Leeds and Liverpool on red alert that a deal could be struck to sign him.

Now, 90min are reporting that Leeds are set to miss out on the 19-year-old, with Liverpool seemingly winning the race to sign him.

They report that the Reds are looking to strike a deal this month to sign him, following his recent goals spree taking his Championship tally for the season to eight goals and two assists.

Another one that got away.

Carvalho is a player that I would have loved for us to swoop for, having pulled off bargains for the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Leo Hjelde, Lewis Bate and the rest.

However, the pull of Liverpool is tricky to compete with, especially when Carvalho will see the development of Harvey Elliott under Jurgen Klopp.

He’s not the first youngster we’ll have missed out on and won’t be the last, but it’s not as if there won’t be dozens we have our eyes on.
