A second Leeds United bid is on the cards for Dan James, this time a permanent attempt to sign him from Manchester United.
Leeds are licking their wounds following the collapse of Michael Cuisance’s move, but they aren’t wasting any time with the window ticking away.
Dan James looks set to be of serious interest heading into the weekend.

ESPN are reporting that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his staff are open to moving James on. They don’t believe he can establish himself at Old Trafford.
However, the board at the club have a different view. Ed Woodward is reluctant to losing the player little over 12 months after he arrived in Manchester.
Leeds have reportedly had a bid to take James on a season-long loan rejected, but they are expected to go back in for more.
Over the weekend, it’s expected that Leeds will make a bid to sign the player permanently.
James infamously missed out on a transfer to Leeds in January 2019, six months before he signed for Man United.

It’s really not gone well for James at Old Trafford.
He was signed with such promise, but his career is really stalling and Solskjaer clearly isn’t sold on the winger.
It might’ve been so much different (for Leeds and James) had his deal got over the line in 2019, but a lot has changed now.
A winger this weekend won’t be a priority for Leeds after the collapse of the Cuisance deal. Bielsa needs another midfielder, then focus might finally turn back to James.
For me, it’s more of an ‘icing on the cake’ deal than a priority.
