Spanish outfit UD Ibiza are powerless to stopping Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz from ending his loan prematurely to join LAFC in the MLS on a permanent deal.
With Leeds’ promotion in 2020 and heavy investment following, a lot of the youth players that have been around for some time have fallen out of favour.
Mateusz Bogusz was a midfielder who came to Leeds in 2019 with a great deal of promise, evident in his presence in pre-season fixtures under Marcelo Bielsa, but he has since been subject to loan moves ever since.
What is next for Bogusz?
The midfielder is currently on loan at UD Ibiza for the second season in a row, who ply their trade in the Segunda Division, 22nd in Spain’s second tier.
However, reports from journalist Tom Bogert revealed this week that the Polish youth international is closing in on a move to the MLS with LAFC, the home of Carlos Vela and Georgio Chiellini.

Could Ibiza retain the midfielder?
Spanish outlet COPE are now reporting that his current club are in no position to keep him at Ibiza, knowing he is destined to join LAFC very soon.
This comes after Bogusz tried to leave in the January window, before his club blocked the move, but continuing to stand in the way of this move is now seen as “impossible”.
“Now it is impossible to retain him, Leeds also welcomes the transfer to Los Angeles. The player has already had his head elsewhere for a long time, he has been seen far from his best level.”
Will Leeds stay up?
Yes

No

It’s no shock that the midfielder is pushing for a move away, and a permanent one at that, given he could end up stuck in a cycle of loans if not.
He’s no doubt a talented player, but he doesn’t have a future at Leeds and the MLS could be a real springboard for him to impress.
Bogusz has what it takes to be a hit in that league, and he goes to a side competing at the top end of the table for silverware.
