Leeds United have reportedly joined Newcastle United and Rangers in the race to sign highly-rated forward Filip Skorb.
That’s according to the Daily Record, who say that he has already travelled down to Leeds for a successful trial with the club.
Leeds can boast a number of talented youngsters to their academy ranks currently, and it seems that the Portobello Thistle AFC striker is the latest to catch the eye of Leeds’ scouting team.
What’s the latest with Filip Skorb and Leeds?
The ‘free-scoring’ forward has already had a trial at Thorp Arch, Scott Burns of the Daily Record confirmed, he said: “Skorb has already been down and had a successful visit to Leeds United, and has also been invited to visit rivals Newcastle United over the coming weeks.”
The report has has hinted that Rangers lead the race at present, though, adding: “The youngster has caught the eye at Edinburgh-based Portobello and Rangers will be hoping that he stays in Scotland to continue his development at Milngavie.”
The competition is fierce, and he is also set to trial with Rangers this weekend, Burns continued: “The free-scoring striker is set to play for the Light Blues as a trialist in a tournament against Manchester United this weekend.”

Something which the club have regularly got right in recent years is their recruitment at youth level.
Victor Orta has his critics, but scouting young talent to the youth ranks has certainly had more hits than misses in terms of who has come in and had an impact.
Many players may nit make it with Leeds but still show their quality in professional football, and perhaps Skorb is next in line on the conveyer belt of talent.
The fact Rangers and Newcastle are in for him tells its own story, too. He’s clearly a bright talent for his age.
