Manchester City are now being joined by PSG in the pursuit of Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips.
Leeds’ transfer business has been solid so far, strengthening with three smart signings, but they might need to replace vital midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Manchester City look to be the most likely destination for the England midfielder, with Pep Guardiola needing to replace Fernandinho.
The Citizens are aiming to sign Phillips for a fee of around £45-50million, but could be joined by fellow big-spenders.
The Daily Mirror are now reporting that PSG have made a formal offer to sign Phillips.
They report that a fee of £55million would be “difficult to turn down” as the French club pursue a deal.
Would Phillips be a good signing for Manchester City?
What helps them in their race against Man City to sign him is that they are willing to offer Phillips £200,000-per-week to join.
It shows just how brilliant a player we have on our hands that two of the best sides in the world are keen.
I can see him leaving this summer, but with these two eager, it’s going to take a big fee for it to happen.
Thankfully, we look like we’re going to get a substantial sum for letting him leave.
It’s hard to stand in his way when this calibre of club is looking to sign him, and Phillips’ head could be turned.
