Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Barcelona’s Sergino Dest, amid reported interest from Leeds United.

The summer transfer window is already generating speed at Elland Road with the club looking to get business done early.

Jesse Marsch will have more than a few transfers in sight as he aims to rebuild his squad, and the full-back positions are in his sights too.

It was reported earlier this year that Leeds were interested in signing Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest, and it seems as though Leeds’ need to strengthen that position is even more pressing.

Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling are both set to be out for lengthy periods following respective surgeries, and it means a first-team right-back is essentially a must.

Now, TEAMtalk are reporting that they are continuing to monitor Dest this summer with Marsch keen on the transfer.

However, they face the challenge of beating Manchester United to the signature, with claims that the Red Devils have been offered the American defender for transfer.

The USA international has managed 31 appearances in all competitions this season while playing a mix of both right and left-back, despite being best suited to the right side.

Get him signed.

We need a senior right-back to come in as soon as possible and Dest is exactly what we need.

The signing of Junior Firpo last summer might put a lot of people off this sort of move, but Dest is on a different level to Firpo.

Not only would we be getting a more competent defender, but someone who is around the top of metrics in possession across Europe’s top five leagues as a full-back.

We’ve struggled from the lack of intent from our full-backs under Marsch and Dest would be a means of solving that issue.
