On-loan Barnsley striker Daryl Dike has impressed a lot since joining from Orlando City in the winter transfer window, and a number of clubs are reportedly interested.

The Tykes are amazingly in with a shout for the Championship play-offs after a great run of form which sees them five points clear of seventh place.

Helping them to get there is on-loan American striker Daryl Dike who arrived at the club in January, where his loan deal included a reported £17million option-to-buy with a 20% sell-on fee.

The 20-year-old has five goals in 11 appearances to his name and looks an exciting prospect for the future on that basis.

TEAMtalk are now reporting that Leeds United are one of a handful of clubs keeping tabs on him ahead of a potential swoop in the summer.

The report details that around half of the Premier League have been keeping a close eye on him due to his performances lately, with Everton showing the strongest interest so far.

Leeds have been in the market for young players since clinching promotion to the Premier League and could do with more backup to Patrick Bamford, because his goal-threat isn’t particularly matched by anyone else in the squad at the moment.

There’s definitely going to be a battle on for Dike this summer, because he looks like a very talented striker.

He’s only been at Barnsley since the start of February but to move over to England and hit the ground running like he is in the Championship is a testament to his abilities.

I can’t see us being able to blow many other Premier League outfits out of the water for this one but he’d be a good signing for whoever does manage to get him in.

Barnsley could easily sign him themselves if they clinch promotion this season, but that doesn’t mean that the top-flight sides won’t test their resolve anyway once he’s at Oakwell permanently.
