Kalvin Phillips headlines the Leeds United absentees ahead of this evening’s clash with Aston Villa.

Leeds are also waiting for further updates on Liam Cooper, who is in a race against time to get fit.

As per the club’s official preview, Phillips will miss tonight’s clash after picking up a shoulder injury in the defeat to Wolves on Monday.

He’s facing six weeks on the sidelines, which will also rule him out of next month’s international fixtures.

Additionally, Diego Llorente joins Adam Forshaw and Gaetano Berardi in the treatment room.

Finally, there’s news on Cooper, who remains a doubt with a groin injury.

The captain was in the same situation against Wolves on Monday, but was made to pull out of the warm-up.

Forshaw and Berardi are absentees we know about, whilst Llorente still feels a couple of weeks away from a chance to debut.

The headline news surrounds Phillips and Cooper.

We are without the former, which is a blow. He might not have been at his best this season, but when he isn’t around, Marcelo Bielsa’s side do tend to struggle.

Pascal Struijk will replace him, which then puts pressure on Cooper to return.

Robin Koch is the only fit centre-back available to Bielsa, but if Cooper has a chance, Leeds might have to wheel him out for this hugely important fixture.
