Leeds United are not looking to let right-back Cody Drameh leave the club, amid interest from Championship club Swansea City.

With the Premier League season just 24 hours away for Leeds, transfer business is still at the forefront of the discussion for Jesse Marsch.

A defensive recruitment is still needed to bolster the back four, and there is talk about a potential outgoing being on the cards before the end of August.

After starring last season on loan in South Wales with Cardiff City, their EFL rivals Swansea are seemingly interested in taking him for the 2022/23 campaign.

While Wales Online report of the Swans interest under Russell Martin, they are set to miss out in their hunt with Leeds not willing to part with the defender.

The report details that Martin wanted to bring the defender in on a permanent deal initially (among others), but the club’s finances wouldn’t allow for such a swoop.

After that, the Welsh outfit enquired to take the former Fulham right-back in on loan, but have swiftly learned that Marsch does not want him to leave at all before September 1.

Drameh is currently Leeds’ second-choice right-back behind Rasmus Kristensen, as Luke Ayling recovers from surgery.

Letting Drameh go would be a weird one, knowing that we’d be very light in that position if he was gone again for the season.

I would hope that we have learned our lesson from last season and won’t be willing to harm squad depth as much as in previous windows.

Drameh would blossom in the Championship, but he’s shown he’s ready to be trusted here, and we will need him close by as Ayling starts the season taking a step back.

Kristensen will be first choice, but it’s not a back selection headache to have picking between him and Drameh.
