At Leeds United there’s a significant focus on recruitment after narrowly avoiding relegation back into the EFL.
Leeds have secured a third season of top-flight football, though, which opens up a number of possibilities this summer.
The main focus will be on padding out Jesse Marsch’s squad for the upcoming season, but one thing that will contribute towards that will be potentially moving players out of Elland Road.
As per a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, a handful of players that spent 2021/22 away from Leeds on loan face an uncertain future.
Included in that is Kiko Casilla and Helder Costa, who both had loan spells in Spain last season.
There’s also a decision to make with regard to Leif Davis, Ian Poveda and Alfie McCalmont, who are all contract with the club beyond this summer. That trio spent the season on loan with AFC Bournemouth, Blackburn Rovers and Morecambe respectively.

Some of these decisions might have been harder to make this summer had Leeds been relegated, but looking at another year in the Premier League, these five can probably be sacrificed.
Leeds have moved on from Casilla, whilst Costa remains way down the pecking order even if Raphinha is sold – many fans would like to see Crysencio Summerville given a chance ahead of him, for example.
As for Poveda, he could do with another loan after last season’s spell with Blackburn, which was heavily impacted by injury.
Davis and McCalmont, meanwhile, are two good young players, but they need to find their way in the EFL. Leeds need to give them that opportunity.
