Leeds United are reportedly one of a number of English clubs, and Celtic, tracking Cape Town Spurs striker Luke Baartman.
The Whites are not far away from the January transfer window where they will be looking for some added investment to push them closer to automatic promotion.
Youth investments also need to be a focus for the 49ers in order to keep the under-21 side producing talent worthy of making it into the senior ranks.
Luke Baartman to Leeds?
The Scottish Sun are reporting that Leeds are interested in signing striker Luke Baartman from South African side Cape Town Spurs.
Leeds, of course, have history with South African players coming to Elland Road through the likes of iconic players Albert Johanneson, Lucas Radebe, and even Phil Masinga and Davide Somma.
Celtic are the other named club in the report that are closely monitoring the 17-year-old forward, but do not view him as someone to immediately come into their first team squad if they sign him.
At his age, he became the second youngest goalscorer in the South African top flight when he netted against Kaizer Chiefs earlier this month, lashing the ball into the roof of the net from 15 yards out in a 3-2 defeat.

It’s hard to know a great deal about someone coming through in the South African top flight at his age, but the fact he’s made three appearances and has already bagged shows you he’s got talent.
A report from IOL claimed fans need to “remember the name”, which is a big claim and a lot of pressure to put on him, but he’s rated highly.
Celtic’s recruitment of players from parts of the world not often scoured for talent by UK clubs has been impressive lately, and the fact they’re keen says a lot too.
