Leeds United’s attempts to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie could end up suiting the Serie A club amid their current turmoil.
Long gone are the days where Leeds are facing points deductions for financial mismanagement, and the last few transfer windows have actually seen the club take advantage of other club’s issues to strike valuable signings.
Juventus are 15 points worse off in the Serie A table after the Italian Football Federation handed them a points deduction over financial irregularities and false accounting, meaning a swift move to help balance books could be ideal.

While this issue is not expected to tear the European giants asunder this season, a means to generate income could help as they look unlikely to climb back into the Champions League places this season.
Leeds may be the side about to bring them a major windfall as they look to sign Weston McKennie this month, as Fabrizio Romano reports of Leeds being €7million shy of the current €35million valuation.
Now, The Athletic’s Phil Hay has underlined how keen the Italian side would be to part ways with the 24-year-old midfielder this month.
Shedding light on the internal stance at Juventus, Hay wrote:
“Juve will look to regain their balance now and the noise around McKennie indicates that trimming him from the wage bill and pulling in a fee for him would suit the ownership in Turin.”
Will Leeds sign a midfielder before the January deadline?
Yes

No

McKennie is now a signing we just have to make, in order to make sure our midfield is strong enough for the second half of the season.
Juventus might be looking to play hard-ball to get the highest possible fee, but that’s our cross to bear, given we left it until January to sort our various issues.
The fact that McKennie is keen to join us could be a big driving force in getting this deal done before the deadline.
